About the Department

Department of Education is a pioneer Department in the college which started its journey from the very inception of the college in 2008 with Programme Course and with two Contractual Teachers. It then strengthened its footstep when Honours Course was approved in 2014-15 session with an initial intake capacity of 30 (Thirty) students. From 2010, the Department was endowed with Part-time Teachers and gradually two Guest Teachers joined. In 2016, the Department got a new shape when two Full -time Assistant Professor joined the team. Now 5 (five) teachers are dealing with near about 120 students of Honours Course and about 500 Programme Course students with excellence. The Department is enjoying a cosy ambience with its students. Teachers are adopting recent trends of teaching methods as well as try to make them familiar with modern education system in all respect. At present two of the teachers possess PhD Degree. One SACT-I and two SACT-II are also there who have engaged themselves in disseminating knowledge in true sense. Several activities like conducting Educational Tours, Special Lecture by Invitee Speaker, Organising Departmental / State Level seminars, Cultural Programmes, Preparation of Wall Magazine in different spells have been performed in the Department throughout the year. The Department is following the prescribed assessment procedure for the courses. Performance of the students in the University Examination is satisfactory and The Department is continuously supplying representatives to different Universities in the State.
