Hazi A. K. Khan College has a well-functioning Teachers’ Council formed based on the guidelines of University of Kalyani and Higher Education Department, Govt of West Bengal. All teachers are member of the Teachers council. The principal acts as the ex-officio chairman of the Teachers’ Council. The Council elects one of the teachers as the Secretary of the Teacher’s Council. Dr Nanigopal Malo, Assistant Professor, Department of Bengali is the present secretary of the Teachers’ Council.
The Teachers’ Council advises the Principal and IQAC of the college on all academic matters including students’ welfare and discipline, arrangement of timetable, conduct of examinations, improvement of the library, laboratories and teaching facilities in the college. Additionally, the Teachers’ Council represents the interests of teachers in regard to their service conditions and professional lives and maintains open communication channels between the administration and teachers.
As recreational activities the Teachers’ Council organizes staff lunch, annual staff picnics, and also felicitates teachers at their farewell. The Secretary of the Council meets regularly with council members to discuss relevant issues.
