About the Department

The Department of Philosophy with its intellectual contribution has its unique presence in the society. Its origin is connected with the commencement of the college in 2008, offering an Under Graduate Philosophy Programme. It upgraded itself in 2018 into an honours course department. This is one of the Departments that have contributed to the understanding of the development of Indian and Western Philosophy under the syllabus of Kalyani University. The department is supported by a dedicated team of faculties who aim at effectively delivering a course in Philosophy, which is prominent for uniformly maintaining its standards of academic excellence over the years. The quality of students in the undergraduate programme is praiseworthy. The undergraduate programme in Philosophy specially aims at shaping the higher academic skills of the students. The members of the faculty are involved in serious academic research. The department provides ICT enable classes for the students for their better understanding of the concepts. The students of the department can easily access the required books from the library online as well as off line mode.
