About National Service Scheme (NSS)
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. It provides opportunities for student youth of schools and colleges to engage in government-led community service activities and programs. The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service. The NSS was launched in 1969 to develop the personality and character of student youth through voluntary community service, to fulfil the purpose of "Education through Service".

About the NSS Unit of Hazi A. K. Khan College:
Hazi A. K. Khan College boasts an active National Service Scheme (NSS) unit that operates with a multifaceted approach aimed at holistic community development. The activities of the NSS Unit span across various domains including environmental awareness and sustainability, health and sanitation, women empowerment, community support and relief efforts, as well as road safety and civic awareness. The unit has imbibed the motto of NSS, ‘NOT ME BUT YOU’, that reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service. Along with the regular activities and extension programmes this voluntary unit conducts seven days special camp every year.
